Entering your private unit you will first be greeted by the air-conditioned interior, a fresh and inviting retreat from the beauty of tropical Costa Rica. Tiled in warm beiges, and detailed in wood, the interior of the home will immediately lull you into tranquility, coaxing you further inside where the ceilings open up to two stories spilling light and grace into every corner. Continuing into the space you will find: your private sapphire-tiled pool waiting for you with open arms, a lunging area with all the modern entertainment amenities, and a full kitchen where you can play chef, or maybe just hire one to do all the cooking. Up to you. The kitchen is loaded with everything needed: standard appliances, blender, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, full set of dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. There’s even a washer and dryer in the unit so you can do laundry, which means you can pack less, or have more room in your bag to bring home purchases.

The best beach in the area is only steps from the security-gate: Playa Langosta, which means Lobster Beach, but you’ll mostly just find sea-shells. Langosta Beach is one of Costa Rica’s “white sand” beaches, crafted by the tireless smashing of seashells by the ocean, blasting them into grains of sand that tickle your feet as you chase hermit-crabs into the tide-pools. The surrounding community is mostly gated retirement folks from North America. There are a few amenities in walking distance, a market, a sports bar, and even Matt’s Delicafe, serving some of the best sandwiches around. If you want to go into Tamarindo central, from your Costa Rica vacation rental you only need take a five-minute car-ride, or walk twenty-minutes along the beach. There you will find shops, nightclubs, restaurants and even mini-golf. Spend the day learning to surf, wrap it up with a nice dinner, maybe even enjoy the sunset, and then leave it all in Tamarindo as you slumber away your day in the serenity of Langosta, past the rumble of town.

A local luxury resort has rates for single rooms with standard hotel accommodations, a shared pool, and throngs of people for a little less than for what you’ll rent this entire unit. It’s not just a matter of how far your dollars go.
