The property of Villas Mariposa is comprised of ten modest units, each with their own take on the same basic layout, and each with their own bit of privacy. You will have your own palapa under which you can sit or swing in your hammock. [See? We like to describe it as Goldilocks privacy; not so much that you’ll have zero neighbors and nobody with whom to socialize, but not so little you’re afraid to change clothes for the pool. Your rental is a ten-minute walk from the beach and town. Normally there is a small crowd making their way to the beach around 5:30 to watch the sun drop into the sea. Take your camera and see if you can catch the green flash. (Locals often report seeing a small flash of green light from the last crest of the visible sun, as the light bends around the Earth.)
Unit one is about 1000 square feet of interior space, has been freshly painted, and is the perfect meshing of Costa Rica with modern accommodations. Inside you will appreciate the vaulted mahogany ceilings, ceramic floors, and cushy furniture. This is no cabin in the woods. It’s deluxe accommodations on the beach. If it’s your preference, you can blast the air conditioner until you turn blue.
You have two cozy bedrooms from which to choose. The master has queen size bed, an ensuite with shower, and ample closets. The other room is outfitted with two twin beds, lots of storage and bathroom with another shower.

Your living area, which functions for lounging and dining, seats six most comfortably. You will really appreciate the large sectional when it comes time to flop someplace. This couch was made for flopping. If you’re more of a rocker, enjoy the gentle cadence of a locally made rocking chair. Both work for napping.
Also, as mentioned, your kitchen is fully loaded with granite countertops and full-size appliances. There’s a rear storage area off kitchen with washer/dryer which also includes a door to the back garden. Here’s the quick list of amenities you will have at your disposal: blender, coffee maker, TV, microwave, WiFi, off-street parking, and a washer and dryer because everybody wants to do laundry on vacation. Kidding aside, it really saves on luggage space if you know you can do a load in the middle of your trip.
Last but not least, to round out your idea of the perfect Costa Rican vacation rental, you have a fully equipped gym two minutes away. You can go lift heavy, bang out some cardio, and do it all with howler monkeys to spot you. Kidding again. The Howlers are terrible spotters.
